Fourth out of Fifty
Seeing as I still have four years and 6 months to read Liam the 50 books to read before you're 5 list, I spaced this one out accordingly.
This has been one of Liam's favorite books since birth. It remains the ONLY book he will let me read in its entirety without (A) putting it in his mouth, (B) pulling on each page, or (C) closing the book.
I really think it is the sliding flaps on each page that keep him entertained. It's not a pop up book that he'll rip in 2 seconds flat, just a simple slide of a little square on each page and he watches me slide each one as if I just performed a miracle. (Which I did by the way, 6 months and 6 days ago by creating my tiny human, but you've already read that.)
The book....Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See written by Bill Martin and illustrated by Eric Carle.
Simply Perfect.

8/52 plus
Reminding myself to keep it simple.
This is the face he was making 90% of the time when we were outside today. I have never seen it before! Being by the creek brought it out of him. |
Those feet! |
Avocado was a bust. Too frustrating, he couldn't pick it up, wouldn't take it off the spoon, we'll try again another night. He did actually eat banana recently. And tomato...on accident. This was also his first time in the high chair which was a new experience in itself. We didn't want to squish his chubby checker thighs into the bumbo seat after four shots so he big boyed it up to no avail. We all survived though.
Loves being in this activity gym!
Feet reach the bottom comfortably now and he can push off the bottom a bit. He's finding out all sorts of tricks he can do. |
It was gorgeous outside today! It was a wonderful taste of the spring to come, what short spring we will get at least. Liam loved it. Outside makes him so calm.
We are not used to being outside for pictures so many of these are taken with my ISO up way too high and some were a bust. I'm still learning, bear with me! Basically Liam just looks washed out and very pasty pale with a high ISO. Exhibit A...
Our backyard slope is JUST right for balancing! |
Grams and Grandpa. Liam thought the ground was way more interesting. |
I realized the ISO was too high and changed it for these last ones, skin looks more like normal skin.
I would like to add that I did cut his fingernails shortly after this. Those talons are brutal! |
After a taste of that greenery there. |
Light. Swoon. |
My favorite. |
All Liam. All the time. New blog title perhaps? That is apparently where this blog is heading.

Biscuits from SCRATCH
I made biscuits. From scratch. Yes, from scratch.
The recipe wasn't that great, it was from someone not from the south claiming these were "southern" biscuits. They weren't. Not even close. More like, Missouri or Indiana or some middle lying state like that.
Next recipe is going to be a Cracker Barrel-like biscuit. Now that's what I'm talking about.
But I took pictures anyway and hey, they aren't that bad. It's a post that doesn't have a single picture of Liam in it. If you're into that just scroll right by this post. This one will just make you hungry for biscuits claiming to be southern but actually aren't.

6 months old
Half a year! We have been so blessed to have such a happy, healthy baby and are so proud to be his parents.
Plus one outtake because this one makes me laugh. I mean, look at that face and that foot!! I could just eat him up!
Liam weighs 18 pounds 3 ounces. He is perfectly precious.
Happy half birthday baby!

6/52 plus
The baby has had a cold since Friday night which means he's been sleeping on his back. He hasn't done this since he was 1 week old. He adjusted very well and has loved being surrounded by blankets in bed!
Some extries....
As I worked on making Valentines tonight I found myself loving having a creative outlet. Who knew?
I also found myself battling the cat. Apparently glue is like catnip. She couldn't get enough.
Also from tonight, a glimpse into the future.
Plus some pterodactyl noises.
