Homemade Shampoo Recipe

We have been loving our new homemade shampoo!

The recipe I used was...

1/4 cup Coconut Milk
1/3 cup liquid castile soap (Dr. Bronner's brand) I bought citrus scented
1 tsp Almond Oil, or olive oil or Vitamin E
10-20 drops of sweet orange essential oil (you could use any scent)
squeeze bottle-I found mine at TJ Maxx (they're ketchup and mustard bottles haha)

Comine all the ingredients in the bottle and shake!
Simple!

I read it should keep for one month in your shower and should be shaken before each use.

Enjoy!

Homemade floor cleaner plus shower head cleaner

I've gotten the itch to make my own cleaning supplies. I got this recipe off Pinterest and really liked it!

The ingredients I used were
1 cup water
1 cup vinegar
1 cup alcohol
2-3 drops natural dish soap
10-15 drops essential oil
spray bottle

I attached a microfiber cloth to my Swiffer Wet Jet and got to work!

I know I didn't show you a before picture but this is my after picture. It worked great and now I know what's on my floor and what Kitten is walking on.

I also read that the floor cleaner can be used as an all-purpose cleaner.

As for the shower head cleaner....

The ingredients I used were
1/3 cup baking soda
1 cup white vinegar
1 plastic bag
1 rubber band

Be sure to add the vinegar to the baking soda very carefully. It foams quickly!

Tie to the shower head and let sit for 2-3 hours.

Don't forget to write down the recipes if you like them and want to try them again!

Happy cleaning!

Introducing.....

Riley Harlan Hobgood

Eat your heart out....

Congratulations Lydia, Caleb, and Hayden!

Chattanooga

Home again! It always feels so wonderful to step through your own front door and be welcomed back home. We made it back from a short visit to Chattanooga yesterday and even though it was cloudy both days, it is simply a beautiful city. We had a wonderful time visiting my best friend Laura; we loved catching up and I even found a wine I like! Thanks bestie!

Canvas project

I got this idea from a blog I follow entitled A Beautiful Mess. She has amazing ideas and this was one of them. I'm sure it's been on Pinterest at some point as well.

So here goes.....

I found the painted canvas at Goodwill for $5 and bought the can of white spray paint and letters at Michael's.

I cut the letters out and placed them on the canvas.

I realized my canvas had more white then I wanted so I added more paint in places where the white would have shown through. Then I stuck the stickers on the canvas.

Spray the entire canvas white.

Let the spray paint dry then peel the stickers off.

Vwa-lah! You have a up-cycled canvas!
